About

My Name Is Mike

I’m a part of the Karen Hill tribe and I’m fiercely proud of my hill-tribe heritage. My parents are rice farmers in Mae Jok (where I was born), a small village north of Chiang Mai near the Myanmar border. When I was 19, I received foreign support for a university degree in Tourism, which enabled me to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a tour guide.

I want to share the beauty of my home village, the surrounding jungle, my hill tribe culture. And, let’s not forget the delicious food. For the past seven years, I have been guiding visitors from across the globe through untouched jungles, picturesque waterfalls, and the traditional villages of my native land.

Trekking through the natural splendor of the forests, and rafting along the calm river waters on hand-made rafts are some of my favorite childhood memories. I am so happy and grateful that I can share these things with you so that they can become some of your favorite memories too. I hope to provide a safe and truly authentic experience for all my guests. I’m constantly optimizing the experience based on guest feedback.

I look forward to meeting you soon!
