Wat Rong Khun (White Temple). commonly known as the White Temple, is a contemporary Buddhist temple located approximately 13 kilometers south of Chiang Rai city center. Conceived and funded by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, the temple stands as a striking blend of traditional Thai architecture and modern artistic expression.
Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple). commonly known as the Blue Temple, is a modern Buddhist. Completed in 2016, it stands out for its striking blue and gold color scheme, setting it apart from other temples in the region.
Wat Huay Pla Kang, Often referred to as the “Big Buddha of Chiang Rai,” is a prominent Buddhist temple located approximately 6 kilometers north of Chiang Rai city center. The temple is renowned for its striking blend of Thai Lanna and Chinese architectural styles, featuring a towering 69-meter white statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. Visitors can ascend the statue via an elevator to the 22nd and 23rd floors, where panoramic views of the surrounding area await .
